The 3 Rs

Serving as the trailer for the 2011 Vienna International Film Festival, Austria’s most important annual film event, the master of the inexplicable, David Lynch, has created a brief, one-minute short film that plays with symbolism, spiritual metaphors, the passage to knowledge, and the educational system. Pivoting around a simple question, that demands a seemingly straightforward answer, the Three Rs can refer to Reading, wRiting, and aRithmetic: the cornerstones of education, knowledge, and enlightenment.
