RAR extraction error?

Hey

I see that some users have problems with unpacking .rar archives. If your winrar say you need a password it’s definitely “old version” issue. If your winrar is few years old (yes I had users who never updated the software) the problems is here. That also concerns few other errors so if you ever get an error while extraction please follow this steps:

  • Check if your winrar version is bellow 5.40 if yes update it.
  • If after updating you get the same error try downloading the file again (Your browser could drop few bytes or your connection was lost).
  • If the two steps above doesn’t work it’s probably my fault and you can write a comment or e-mail… Remember to give the full name of the file and filehost.

Here is the the latest version of WinRar 5.60 (x64 and x86)

Winrar 5.60 – Rapidgator

Winrar 5.60 – 1Fichier

I have left messages regarding an episode or two of Sharp Objects in the past, and most recently, of Condor #5 and #6. I found replacements elsewhere for Sharp Objects, but not for Condor. Both Rapidgator and 1fichier are corrupt. It isn’t WinZip in either case.

You are right both of the mentioned series have corrupted rar files… I’m sorry for that, right now they have been deleted. I’ll restore them once they are fixed. Sorry again.

You do fine work – much appreciated – but I had two small problems unpacking the files (tried several downloads, updates my Win Rar, problems persisted).

The_Affair_S04E06_720p_WEB_H264_DEFLATE and Harlots_S02E04_WEB_h264_TBS comes up with ‘Checksum error’-message when trying to unpack.

Could you please take a look at this when convenient?
    Thanx

A lot of rars error, uses on checksum. So it renders the media useless unless you use the keep broken and ignore argument. Example.. For f in *.rar; do unrar e “$f” -kb -o+ .; done

Sorry, I queue a great deal of files and download at least 50 a day. However I’ll monitor and keep you up to date.
