Friday Mosque is a silent meditation on the Islamic prayer ritual through water, light, motion and repetition. As if Azan, the Arabic calling, is visually summoning faithful souls to the everyday practice. Water is the core. The film was shot on BW 7363 film and fully hand processed. Friday Mosque was a part of CalArts’ juried Showcase in May 2014.
