Just as many a mid-’70s 1-day-wonder becomes a head-scratcher (“what were they thinking?”) when viewed 40 years later, FRENCH SCHOOLGIRLS is nothing more than a cobbled-together junker made up out of stray porn loops and stag films.The half a dozen segments lasting an hour in total are about as random as the Something Weird or After Hours Cinema time-killer DVDs devoted to resurrecting 16mm or 8mm junk. Framing footage that carries the loops consists of two girls in a water bed having a smoke and discussing sexual exploits. Mention of a 14-inch cock cues a crummy John Holmes stag movie. Tina Russell also makes the scene in a pointless loop, and Shaun Costello demonstrates his roots as talent before becoming a director, featured in a stag bearing telltale footage of players with dirty feet. Harry Reems is listed in the IMDb cast page, but I didn’t spot him.With Cal Vista Intl. listed alongside VCX in the opening credits, this had theatrical release, but is less than a curio now on DVD.
