El zapato chino

A taxi driver finds Marlene, a provincial girl, lost in a brothel. He immediately decides to protect her in his home. Little by little, his paternal affection transforms into a strange hidden passion. Finally the driver ends up living in the suitcase of his own taxi, while Marlene declares that she wants to go live with him forever. The first feature film directed by Cristián Sánchez was made in the midst of the dictatorship and seeks to capture that lost, confused atmosphere of that time. Carried out under the supervision of the authorities, it has even after its completion, Pinochet himself asked to see it.
