Bryan Lynch has made a terrific film here that combines all that is great about satire, sketch comedy, and the introspective, dialogue heavy films of the 90’s. Perhaps some people watch Big Helium Dog expecting just to find another Kentucky Fried Movie or Kevin Smith film, but this is a truly original film that takes bold risks and creative twists. Many times the comedy is overtly silly, in the style of Monty Python, and other times more satirical like modern American sketch comedy. The plentitude and diversity of jokes though makes for a deeply satisfying and hilarious experience. Now I only wish they would hurry up and release this on DVD.
