Synopsis

When I found “A Man’s Game” on YouTube, I was shocked to see that it was a Tim McCoy film that was NOT a western. I had no idea he’d ever made any non-westerns and when he began making films, it was because of his skills as a trick shooter and American Indian translator. So why have him play in a non-western?When the story begins, you see that Tim is a knucklehead. When he tries to pass a slowpoke on the road, the slowpoke (Ward Bond) speeds up and the two idiots begin racing…and both end up getting arrested. Apparently both have a history of immaturity and both their fathers are relieved when the two become friends and join the fire department together. But their immaturity takes some time to wear off…and in the meantime, there is a girl that comes between them. There’s much more to see….and I don’t want to spoil the suspenseful ending. While I like Tim McCoy movies and loved the change of pace, I think it was a mistake to make him and Bond such idiotic arrested teens! They just were too immature, too irresponsible. Fortunately, despite this big flaw, it’s never dull and is a good time passer. Not brilliant in any way…not even close. But somehow still entertaining.
