1Fichier links notice

Hey

Many of you heard me talking about issues with 1Fichier on chat. A few times we didn’t have the 1fichier links for a few days. I didn’t bother you with the explanations because we always found a way to solve it. It’s different this time.

A few years ago, 1fichier made a change and introduced a Cold Storage system where you have to pay for inactive files on your account. The price is €2/TB/month or €12/TB/year.

Cold Storage – inactive/not downloaded files for 60 days

Hot Storage – files downloaded within last 60 days

If I wanted to buy the cold storage for all my files, the price would be about 6,100 EUR for 12 months. That is 515 EUR per month.

Up till now, we had a way to “cheat” and make our files hot without paying for the Cold Storage. Recently, 1Fichier hardened its security, and we don’t have a reliable way to preserve all the files on 1Fichier. Even normal users noticed it’s harder to download files with proxy/VPN, sometimes you have to wait dozens of hours.

What will happen within 1–3 months is that you will start to notice massive numbers of removed files due to inactivity. I don’t know how massive it will be, but I expect 90% of the files will be gone within 2 months.

Right now I have 515TB of data on 1Fichier, 75TB is marked as cold, meaning they will be removed after 14 days.

Currently, I’m planing to continue uploading new files to 1Fichier for a few months since many of you have bought premium accounts, but please expect to have fewer and fewer total links on 1Fichier.

Edit: On February 16th, 1Fichier removed 100TB of files.

Edit: On March 15th, 1Fichier removed another 250TB of files.

Edit: Starting to test new filehost pixeldrain.com. The files should be alive for 8 months after the last download. Free users can download 6GB per day at full speed, after that the speed is limited. I’ll stop using 1fichier on the 1st of May IF pixeldrain.com will be a good alternative.
